Winter Fun

The Anderson & Conly kids...lov'em, lov'em, lov'em!
Is this the greatest shirt ever? Troy SO is the man! Duncan wore this to the car race...so cute and he was so proud of his daddy.

The car Firewolf (Troy) and Ladybug (Savannah) made for the race. I love it!

Kendall in her tutu and rain boots, while eating a banana. So Kendall...so cute.

I say winter fun...but here in TX we get a few real wintry days that are spread out here and there. I hate it. I wish we could just stick all the wintry days in a row instead of having 70's one day and 30's the next. Then it might feel like winter for real. Today is one of the cold days and we have enjoyed it. Hot chocolate for all around. The kids were out of school for an "ice day" recently and I loved it. I love random days off with the kids. We get to be lazy, go no where and I don't feel guilty about it.
I know I have needed to update the blog for a while, but I just haven't made the time. We are working a lot on the house and just life with the 5 of us is pretty darn busy. But life is still very good and I am so thankful for the blessings we have been given.
Troy survived the TI layoffs, but lots and lots didn't. Please pray for their families. It doesn't matter if you know them or not, because God does and he hears our prayers. It was a bummer week for my man.

Can I just say how blessed I am to have two cars now running? For the last week and a half I had to pretty much be the "bus driver" b/c Troy found a great transmission place through a good recommendation at church. It was a pain to have it there, but we feel they didn't scam us and now his truck runs. He needs a new one, but the time isn't right. Anyway, I'm happy to not have to pick him up and take him to work anymore. Thank God he only works a little ways away.

Well here's a little about what you really read this blog for:

Savannah had her derby car race with Troy recently. They made a firetruck. We'll, used the firetruck they made from Home Depot Day. It was a good idea and they were both excited. It always tickles me how Troy gets so excited. He was really proud it ran straight and made it all the way to the finish. They had a great time together. Duncan went along and loved cheering them on. Savannah also has been cheering for UPWARD and her coach is teaching them a dance. She is really into it and looks so cute while trying to practice it. She will perform it at their banquet. Watching her cheer at the games is so funny. She will be TOTALLY into it...then she'll just be watching the game and totally zones out. She'll just be standing there totally zoned while the rest of the girls cheer their hearts out. I feel bad for her when she does come too though, she's usually a little embarrassed. Don't ask me where she might have inherited this behavior...I have NO idea ;) She continues to be too big and grow too fast and I love her spirit.
Duncan is really into motorcycles. He loved taking Troy to and from work so he could see the motorcycles parked there. He has been going on long bike rides, wearing his BMX racing helmet. He can go fast and loves to go "off road". I know he'll be a mt. biker someday. He heard someone yell out, "Hey! Look at him go!" and let me just tell ya, it made his day. He told me and Troy over and over about it. Duncan can also read now too! It just has really clicked lately and he is so good at it. He loves to read and loves to hear his big sister tell him what a good reader he is. It's really cute. I just can't believe he'll be in Kinder next year. I am SOOO glad I had an extra year with him, since his bday is in October. He likes to be home and likes to hang with me and I guess I kinda like it too :)

I just don't even know where to begin with Kendallina.. that's our nickname for her. My nephew Josh started calling her that last Spring and I love it. For one..she is no longer in diapers...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME! It makes going places so much easier. She is just such a fun kid. She loves to go to the library and we were on a looong break and it just recently started up again. When we went in the fall, she would never do any of the singing... but this semester, she is so into it. She now wants to bring her lunch box into the library. It's like she thinks she's going to school or something. I am doing a Bible study one morning a week and she loves going there too. I really enjoy our alone time. I know before I know it she'll be in school too.
OK, that should do it. Hope it didn't bore you to death. I have lots of other random things floating around, but I'll sav'em for later.
